Ooh Ahh by: Grits
Mr. Neck
''He looks way too serious to be an art teacher. He's making me nervous. Mr. Freeman: ''This has meaning. Pain.'' Speak pg. 65
''That's not the reaction I was hoping for, but I guess it was positive. She could have turned her nose up, or ignored me, but she didn't.'' Speak Pg.64
This is the third change on our mascot. First trojans. Then devils, tigers and now we are all voting on it. Just pick one and stick with it. Oh! And my burrow is shaping up nicely. Plus it is an awesome escape from everything. I think that job day is silly--I mean no one can possibly know what they will be good at and could do as a future job as a freshman. Those adults are obviously a little touched in the head. A good example of being touched would be Mr. Neck and the way he acted in class. I mean I always knew he had a temper, but having a tantrum and then yelling at the one kid who never does anything wrong. But then came Thanksgiving. A fiasco every year. We never end up having turkey cause Dad messes it up since Mom had to go into work so we have pizza. The best thing is that I have finally had a great result in Art. I used the turkey's bones.
My favorite part about this section is the fact that Melinda finally does well in art. The turkey idea was brilliant. I am also happy to know that Mr. Neck while always mean finally blew up. Hopefully he will not get away with it. And I thought it was kinda weird how Melinda is in pain both emotionally and physically and the word that Mr. Freeman used to describe her Art was pain. Maybe the reason as to why she bolted out of there before he could say more was because it had hit a nerve. Maybe she doesn't want to believe it and is truly running from it.
Happy Thanks giving to you.
